LFW 2017- DAY 3: Snippets
Listing what we loved on Day 3 of Lakmé Fashion Week – Winter/Festive 2017, and its really getting tough. Our shortlist is a little big this time. Check out for yourself the magic of their creators:
Peeping Hemlines
Rina Singh puts out a line characterised by soft and gentle layering. Those sheer peeping-out hemlines are the thing to look out for.
Also, we loved the comfortable layered pairing of midis creating an effortless chic look.
Bum Bags
You just can’t miss those cute little belted bum bags. In matching or the embellished one, you ought to have one.
High Neck Crop Tees
These high/polo neck crop tees are a call for this winter. Team it with a skirt, trouser, palazzo, culotte, jeans, dungaree, pinafore or even a saree and you are in the game.
Keyhole Necklines
We also saw some daringly outrageous and sensuous keyhole necks. Just great if its your types, else a crafted to comfort keyhole is surely what you can ask for.
Timeless pieces
When it comes to tradition, heritage and fashion all combined for the festive season, this was a day that exhibited some awe-inspiring pieces.
A mix of sharp tailoring with conventional fits. Sheath dresses with colourful Madhubani prints, showcasing multi-colours and striking embroidery, Neha Agarwal displayed an array of diversity in her design aesthetics.
Hand-painted Kalamkari on Kanchipuram silk brocades with glittering golden borders, Gaurang blended the beauty of the two traditional mediums in ‘Chitravali’. Opting for natural dyes from the bark, flower and root for the magnificent colour story.
Owning one of these is surely a treasure.
Lined up for the party
Time and again stripes resurface as the thing in vogue. Massive on the everyday fashion trend list, this trend didn’t miss to grace the catwalk. Designer Nikita Mhaisalkar showcases modern, urban derivation of the traditional baadla-taar embellish techniqued highlighting stripes, with sheer opulence.
Transparent Stilettos
Transparent shoes have been quite something; versatile, sexy and effortless. Marking its presence on the runway with the eclectic display by Nikita Mhaisalkar. So if you were still waiting for some assurance, go ahead. Since transparency prevails to be the flavour of the season, its time to channel some serious edgy vibes in this major muted trend.
Show the Sharara
Welcoming this festive & wedding season with the ethereal Rahul Mishra collection. What more can one ask for? Elegant Indian ensembles with traditional techniques and handloom embroidery by skilled artisans. The collection of kurtas, dupattas, lehengas, sarees, jackets and just everything that was on stage left us spell-bounded and in just another world.
This tasteful display of sharara with jacket tops and dupatta are a fail-proof choice for your next traditional function, a wedding to attend or a festive celebrations.
